Neelkanth Group of Companies was founded in 1960s by Shri Sadhabhai Ramjibhai Kangad, a resident of a remote village of Kutch District. Kutch used to be a dry District, having scanty rainfall, suffering from water scarcity, therefore, irrigation was a dream here. Since the District is surrounded by Arabian Sea, Shri Sadhabhai, having very strong business sense and an acumen, established a company in the name of Neelkanth Salt by acquiring a small piece of submerged coastal land and started farming of Marine Salt in 1962. A company, started with a humble turnover of few thousands per annum, has now transformed into Neelkanth Group of Companies, a business behemoth in the Kutch District, having turnover of more than ₹ 5000 million. The Group has diversified from Salt Farming to Industrial Salt Manufacturing & Export, Construction, Shipping, Import-Export, clearing/forwarding/Stevedoring, Vessel Chartering, Education, Logistics, Packaging etc. Shri Sadhabhai has left his inheritance to his sons, having equal Acumen & Business Insight and the group is now being managed by his three sons viz. Shri Arjanbhai, Shri Tejabhai and Shri Shamjibhai.
Ahir Salt Liquid Storage Terminal is one of the biggest Liquid Storage Terminals with most modern facilities, having total installed capacity of 2,75,450 KLs, out of which 1,15,950 KLs is for storage of Edible Oils, Non- Edible Oils and other Non-Classified cargo and 1,59,500 KLs for A, B & C Class Petrochemicals & Non-Classified Chemicals. The Terminal is directly connected with Oil Jetty Area of Deendayal Port Authority through 7 Nos of pipelines of various diameters. The Liquid Cargo is directly unloaded from Ships/Vessels to Tanks inside terminal and vice versa.
